THE GALLEY AT THE COTTAGEWOOD STORE is now serving Peruvian-style char broiled chicken. Reaching to the traditions of the Peruvian masters, owner Saleh Hamshari brings carefully prepared and marinated chicken,  and other specialties to the Cottagewood neighborhood.  His chicken is lower in cholesterol than average because of the process. But it’s not just for the health-conscious--it is delicious, different and speaks the language of many cultures.

The 52 year old entrepreneur perfected his recipes inside his first restaurant in Baltimore, Maryland, which received critical acclaim. He learned to cook in Florence, Italy, while getting his architecture degree in retail and restaurant design. It was also in Florence that Hamshari met his wife Barbara Belknap, a graphic designer and artist. They now live in Minnetonka with their two boys, Zachary, 9, and Sam, 7.

The Hamsharis love the Cottagewood neighborhood because of its location close to their home, and they agreed to lease the kitchen at the Cottaewood General Store knowing they would bring healthy, wholesome, and honest food to the community where so many of their friends live. They are very excited to share their award-winning chicken and other specialties with Cottagewood.

According to their menu, pizza, stromboli and gyros remain with the charbroiled specialties, and catering and takeout orders are encouraged. Come in and try their sandwiches and salads, or bring home lunch or dinner for the family and be a hero!
